Get In The Game with BREAKFAST!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day – so how can you GET IN THE GAME when consumers are extremely busy and on the go?

Whether you are trying to improve an existing breakfast program, or looking to implement a new one – we are here to provide you with solutions that help increase your morning foot traffic, plain and simple.

 

 

What is it that our busy customers need?

Again, the solution comes down to a plain and simple approach. Today’s consumers have too much to do in a day – and no time to wait around, especially in the morning when people are trying to navigate through their schedules as efficiently as possible.

So, when competing with an on-the-go lifestyle, how can you increase your morning traffic?
The answer is simple – be ready for them and offer them the convenience they need to get back on track to whatever it was they were doing, quickly.

 

With that being said, are you planning appropriately for that peak traffic in the mornings? 

 

BE READY!

Your breakfast program should be ready to go 15-30 minutes before the rush hits. This way your customers are receiving the service and quality product they are looking for – getting them back on the road promptly with that much needed fuel for the day.

Otherwise, the customer that has to wait around is going to grab a Minute Maid and granola and be back out the door before they even know you are serving a warm breakfast. OR, even worse, if the customer experiences an empty breakfast program, they’ll leave hangry (hungry + angry) and frustrated with the breakfast location that wasn’t actually serving breakfast when they needed it.

Pro Tip: If you have zero breakfast waste in the mornings, you are frankly not making enough.
Be sure you are satisfying your customer’s breakfast cravings with a ready to go, fresh hot case and quick Grab & Go options available in your warmers. I actually encourage you to have a few sandwiches left over from breakfast to ensure you’ve provided enough.

Promote, Promote, PROMOTE!

I actually cannot stress this point enough. Whether you are looking to show off your new English muffin offerings, trying to encourage more traffic in the mornings, or advertising a new special - promoting is one of the easiest ways to let your consumers know that you’re here to provide them with their delicious morning fuel to get them through the day.

Special promotions are important to set you apart from competitors. Run a promotion for a free coffee with the purchase of any breakfast item, or provide a BOGO opportunity where customers can purchase two sandwiches for one appealing set price. Just be sure to have ample signage for these promotions, so that your customers quickly know what your deals are without having to put too much thought into their decision. Again, we want to help them through their busy days, not hinder them with too much information.

Aside from the typical signage around your location, bounce back, loyalty cards are a cost-effective way to entice customers to come in during your morning hours. If you aren’t currently seeing a lot of traffic in the mornings, you can actually utilize these incentives during lunch hours to invite people back into your store to also try your delicious breakfast options. Either way these cards are great encouragement for repeat business!

 

Don’t be shy – get involved locally!

You cannot solely rely on promotional materials to stimulate your morning business…sometimes it’s important to get yourself out there and meet the consumer on their turf. Showcase your delicious breakfast by taking advantage of larger crowds at your local events by offering breakfast catering.

Our Holts Summit bluTaco location recently catered a successful Teacher’s Appreciation event with over 500 attendees! Not only were we able to have the opportunity to serve our amazing local teachers, we were able to provide the incentive for them to come back and visit us by simply passing out loyalty punch cards at every seat. That is 500 potential new customers made possible, simply because one person knew of you enough to book you – be sure everyone knows who you are by the end of the event!

Of course, it never hurts to provide some sort of kickback to the person that booked you as a thank you. This will provide them with a lasting impression that is almost guaranteed to get you booked again.
